Hello Ladies,

I wanted to send out a BIG thank you to all of you for attending/donating to the JDRF Crop Event on Saturday, February 5th 2011.

We were very blessed to have a great day to be warm inside (Thank you Old Hickory Country Club), wonderful full house of ladies saving memories (Scrapbooking for a Cause), and many donations and silent auction items to bid on throughout the day!

Our event in 2011 was a large success, thanks to you.
We are able (at this time) to present JDRF with checks totaling $3800.

We still hope to see more checks from vendor sales that day!
Our addition of Cindy McIntosh from BonAlure Salon and Spa brought in a great deal and we hope she returns next year!!

What a lovely day of feeling the love in our hearts when we heard Riley tell us about her average day with Type 1 Diabetes and her mom smiling over her knowing how strong she really is! What a large testimony from someone so small. Thank you to Riley and Jill!!

We heard Ellen speak of her many sweet children and her intended efforts to keep right on fighting for a cure along side her kids, family, and friends. We should keep her prayer in our hearts and in our mind. We now know of her vow and her determination to make every effort to make that cure happen, including being a huge part of our days success! Thank you Ellen!!

During our wonderful boxed lunches provided by OHCC, Such a loud statement the band made with some awesome hits from the 70's and 80's. This sure got us up out of our seats and groovin', eatin' and scrappin' at the same time! What a super addition to our super Saturday!!! Hello Ladies,
No Worries about the weather.

We will be there tomorrow to save those memories and scrap the day away!

We have SOOO many items for the silent auction and SOOO many giveaways, great vendors, a great band, yummy lunch, so strong and sweet ladies (and Riley)to speak to our hearts! We cannot wait to have you join us at this special event!!

We begin at 9am and scrap until 5pm. If you need an elevator to get your larger items inside the ball room, the side entrance is where you might like to enter. You are welcome to come in the main entrance and be shown where this is.

PLEASE STOP at main entrance (up the stairs) to sign in , sign the Crop Album.

If you are not with a group, let us know so we can seat you and not split groups.

If you are with a group, please find the spot you like. We will not have assigned seating this year so it is up to you. If the table is reserved we will have this identified. The digital tables will be closer to the walls, of course! SO, get there early to get a great seat!!!

Please use your best judgment if the weather is questionable. Travel Safely!!

All of this said, this has been a blessed year for our 2010 JDRF scrapbook event.
I have event t-shirts that will be selling at the event for $15 each. I have a picture shown. I hope to raise some more money by doing this AND hope some of you enjoy the all occasion cards. We are at our 60 person maximum. Jill and I are making a trip to Old Hickory Country Club to count seats and see if we might place some 6 foot rectangle (typical) tables for scrappers through out the ball room. We thought if we mixed some tables between round and rectangular that we could get some needed space for you special ladies and gentlemen!! For once, our vendors might not have a table of their own! We hate to send anyone away so we are taking needed measures to ensure we have the space and seating for all that has registered.

WOW! We have had our earliest attendance HIGH ever in 2010! We are so excited to announce that we have 60 ladies registered and over $1500 in just registrations/donations to JDRF. We are still looking for silent auction items and local sponsors. So, if you know anyone to ask, send them to Jill and I. We so appreciate all of your support!!!

ALSO, if you want to create cards the day of the event, we need to know?? We are ordering some supplies, but if you want to take part in this great deal of 10 cards to create at this event for only $15.00, let us know. WE DO NOT want to run out of supplies. Kathleen Walker with Stampin Up is eager to make sure this is a super fun process and should work out great especially if we know how many we need ;-)

Petticoat Junction has donated a weekend for three for our silent auction this year, ladies!! If you win you will have a room for your group any weekend in 2010. A new Consignment Table at the crop!! We also intend to have a table with consignment items. These items will be donated and half proceeds will go to the party making the sale and the other 50% will go to JDRF.

Another addition this year is card making. We will have some samples that we will offer and if interested you can create these projects (thank you notes, Easter cards, etc...) while you attend this event. 50% of the proceeds will go to JDRF. Details to follow.

I want to thank all of the supporters, the speakers & entertainment for helping make this event a success, the vendors, and the attendees who have joined our efforts for 2008 & 2009. We are truly blessed!

It is still hard to believe a simple e-mail from my friend Jill would have lead to doing something so awesome to help others. We do this for Riley McCarthy (Jill's daughter) who was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the age of 4. We are so proud of Riley and want to do what we can to support the cause and help to find a cure for her and others who suffer from type 1 diabetes. It is with the support of others that this is possible and that Riley can see hope for the future.

1 Corinthians 15:58 "Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or event".

The fruit of the spirit is what we all strive for in life ....love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self control.

I hope to have done a good job organizing these events in order to serve those with juvenile diabetes and others who simply love to scrapbook. I am so proud of you for joining us in this manner to celebrate this needed cause.

I really believe in the impact of memories and can't think of a better way to support families dealing with the disease than to raise money, awareness and bring comfort! We create scrapbooks to preserve those memories... We can't reverse the disease so our best strategy is to make life as enjoyable as possible and cherish every moment – the old and the new! I empathize with any family that is living with this disease and pray that through our efforts as fund-raisers that we might bring about a better understanding, further the knowledge, determine better treatment, offer a better quality of life, and finally find a CURE for (Type 1-Juvenile, and Type 2) Diabetes patients and their loving families.

We have made it through the second annual Crop Out Diabetes event at Old Hickory Country Club yesterday! It was such a great day. I want to thank all the speakers who did such an awesome job, the Old Hickory Country Club for the service and the atmosphere, Linda Davis for the wonderful entertainment, and the persons who donated to this awesome cause!
